Carbon Reduction Policy
Pro Cyber Security Ltd, along with the rest of the UK business Community is committed to being carbon net zero by 2050, in line with Government targets (Scottish government has set a target of 2045), which encompasses all greenhouse gases. We recognise the urgency of acting and we will significantly reduce our emissions over the next 15 years.
To us, carbon net zero means that we will reduce our emissions as much as we can, and we will offset any residual emissions by removing an equivalent amount of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere.
By acting on its carbon footprint, Pro Cyber Security Ltd will make its contribution to the global fight on climate change and become an exemplar for government. Pro Cyber Security Ltd’s carbon net zero efforts will instil pride in the workforce and ensure we attract future employees, who are passionate about the need to halt climate change.
To achieve this Pro Cyber Security will:-
- Reduce our use of fossil fuels and actively seek to deliver energy efficiency improvements to existing and future work activities.
- Develop an energy strategy which incorporates greater use of energy using renewables.
- Work with the current and future supply chain to secure low carbon goods and services, by taking a whole lifecycle approach to carbon (i.e. PAS2080).
- Decarbonise our travel footprint by making use of ICT for meetings rather than face to face and use public transport or non-carbon producing transport when travel is required.
- Apply a travel hierarchy to our travel policy, avoiding, reducing, and using travel only when absolutely necessary.
- Set clear guidance for business cases and procurement processes to ensure that carbon emissions are always considered as part of decision making.
- Ensure that quality carbon management plans are developed and worked to where applicable in our service delivery.
- Communicate progress to employees and Company stakeholders by reporting on our carbon footprint in line with good practice.
- Work with suppliers and clients to help achieve the Companies carbon net zero target.
The effects of climate change will continue to impact Pro Cyber Security Ltd along with the rest of Business UK and the company will take external carbon emission issues beyond our control into consideration and have resilience plans in place to manage and mitigate them. Climate change adaptation plans will continue to be developed to maintain continued resilience.
This Policy will be reviewed and updated periodically to ensure continual improvement.
